SNS - EDM Drilling
SNS also has deep hole drilling capability via the EDM process. With the ability
to drill 400 mm deep holes { 15.75" } up to 4mm in diameter we can meet your
deep hole drilling requirements. Conventional drilling dictates that depth of a
hole is limited to 5 or 6 times the diameter of the drill bit. This is not a limitation
with EDM drilling. We can achieve depths of 100 times the hole diameter. EDM
drilling also permits the deep drilling of small hole diameters {fractional mm holes
up to 14" deep}
In addition to exceptional depth, the EDM process enables us to drill material that
is either very difficult or impossible to drill with conventional methods.
Polycrystalline Diamond Stock { PCD } or magnet material like Alnico is readily
drilled via an EDM drill. In conjunction with our Wire EDM we can achieve your
required hole diameter.
